Back in the day, my Grandmother used to trim the ends if her braids to maximize hair growth. Years later when doing some research on this practice, I researched many articles and charts on this practice. I discovered The Morocco Methods lunar chart and purchased their Zen Detox Powder, reviewed here.
The chart notes the best dates your hair based on your specific hair goals. With the five goals: Thicken, Beautify, Lengthen, Root Work, and Strengthen.
Also noted are seasonal dates for the solstices and equinoxes which are particularly powerful cutting days.
March 19-20 — Spring Equinox — are the best dates to cut for spring and the ultimate date for lengthening
June 21-22-23 — Summer Solstice — are the best dates to cut for summer.
September 26-27-28 — Fall Equinox — are the best dates to cut for fall.
December 17-18-19 — Winter Solstice — are the best dates to cut for winter.
