Technology & Digital Art: Animated Classic Paintings

Using the 2.5D effect, Rino Stefano Tagliafierro brings to life classic paintings from Caravaggio to Rubens. 
This method is similar to cinemagraph, (a merging of still photos and film) which also is a great way to animate a photo. 

It is close to 10 minutes viewing, so I've posted a sample .gif of one of my favorites.
